Identification and Economic Contribution of Intercrops to the Income of Oil Palm Farmers on Bangka Island

Oil palm smallholders have the initiative to plant intercrops in immature smallholder oil plantations obtain additional income ahead of harvest. The research was conducted identify which were cultivated by farmers and calculate value contribution made farmers. survey method carried out on island Bangka. researchers concluded that types included cucumber, tomato, long beans, cassava. intercropping contributes while at same time supporting maintenance costs young plants. In this study, contributed 13.5% toward covering these costs. This means are feasible cultivate order intercrop with TBM plants so they can cover farming before producing FFB.
